5 Benefits of Walking Daily

Walking is natural exercise we do daily. The good news is you are improving your health and you don't even know it. Walking is an aerobic exercise that has many benefits. Increasing the amount of time and frequency you walk will put you in an even better place physically and mentally. Here are 5 benefits of walking 30 minutes a day.

Walking keeps your heart healthy.

Walking is an active way to keep your heart healthy. Daily walking has been proven to lower your risk of heart disease, improve your blood circulation and control blood pressure. Many people use tracking devices to record how many step they achieved for the day. I personally use my Apple Watch to record my daily steps and distance.

Walking stimulates your mind.

Just like other forms of exercise, walking is no different. When you put on some of your favorite music and walk it gives you a sense of accomplishment. You may walk further and longer than you expected. It helps relieve stress and keeps your mind occupied while burning calories.

Walking helps aid in weight loss.

This reason is probably one of the main reasons we walk, to help control our weight. Walking at a brisk pace for more than 30 minutes can assist with your weight loss journey. You may not see the scale going down but you will feel your clothes a little looser than usual.

Walking increases regular bathroom habits.

Having a regular walking schedule will also regulate your bathroom schedule. Walking speeds up your digestive system and assist with helping waste leave the body on a regular schedule. Trust me it works!

Walking helps tone your lower body.

Yes! Legs, butt and more legs. Walking helps firm your legs and lift your butt without having to touch any weights. Once you get in a good rhythm you can incorporate some lunges or high knees to enhance your walk to meet your fitness level.

Remember to grab some water and wear comfortable breathable clothing and shoes. Some of my favorite brands to wear are New Balance and Brooks for good walking shoes.

It is time to set your timer, program your music and get moving to a happier, healthier you!!!
